Javed Ahmad is an energy economist, energy and minerals explorationist, environmentalist and human rights activist. He has 45 years of professional experience in oil, gas, coal, minerals and renewable energy sectors. He has held various top executive level positions in energy sector and has worldwide exposure of latest research & developments in these technologies. Mr. Javed is also CEO/Director of five companies involved in oil & gas & renewable energy resources exploration & development and consulting services in Pakistan.

He was a Consultant to Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Government of Pakistan for drafting Mining Concession Laws, in association with John T. Boyd of USA, for the Large Scale Mining of Thar Coal deposits of Pakistan under the USAID Program. He is one of the pioneer geologists for the exploration of copper and gold deposits in Chagai District of Balochistan working for the Geological Survey of Pakistan, from 1966 to 1970. He worked for Directorate of Mineral Development, Department of Mineral Resources, and Planning & Development Department Government of Balochistan from 1970 to 1976.

Mr. Javed has obtained B.Sc. Honors in Geology from University of Punjab, M.A Economics and LLB from University of Balochistan. He received M.A Political science and M.A History from Punjab University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law from Quaid-e-Azam Law Collage Lahore. Under USAID Fellowship he received training in USA, with US Bureau of Mines, US Geological Survey, U.S Civil Service Commission, Bureau of Training, and Michigan State University, in the fields of Mineral Exploration, Development and Mining Administration. He also received a Post Graduate Diploma in Mine Management from Canada. Mr. Javed is member of many professional societies like, Geothermal Resource Council (GRC-USA), International Geothermal Association (IGA-USA), Society of Petroleum Engineers of USA, American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers – USA, Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geologists and Geological Society of Pakistan.
