Most people say that… “time is money”! The truth is that time is not only money! There are some things valued “more than money”. One of these is our Environment, our Planet, our Nature. But not only OUR! Earth belongs also to our children! So what we have to do in order to protect the future of our planet? the future of our children? As I mentioned before, time is valued more than money! So we have to save our planet TODAY! We don’t have time to waste! There is an urgent need for targeting alternative energy sources that will provide us with energy by protecting the environment. Usage of oil, gas etc should be restricted! We all know the environmental problems of our planet. Polar sea ice loss, increasing of CO2 levels in the atmosphere, environmental degradation, global warming, ozone depletion are some of them. Why not use renewable resources of energy? We have lots of them. Renewable energy resources belong to the category of alternat ive energy resources that protect our environment and are needed in order to achieve the famous “sustainable development”. So, are we able to use renewable energy sources to produce energy? I think we can do this if we want to! I give you an example for what I mean. In Greece and in other Mediterrenean countries, there is plenty of sun and somewhere plenty of wind.Many greek islands have full sunny days for 6-7 months per year! Why not use solar energy or wind energy to produce electricity ? Not only this, but these countries can also sell this type of energy to other neighbour countries. Maybe this can be a solution for these economies to grow. I can not understand why everyone is talking about Greek debt crisis and nobody helps Greece to exploit its natural energy resources. Especially for the solar power I specify something. Solar production is certainly very good for the environment, because this form of alternative energy is absolutely clear with no emissions in the atmosphere. This is a real Greenenergy! We should know also that photovoltaic cells become more and more efficient and less expensive thanks to the new technology design. So, there exist a lot of benefits for the countries to use them. Anyway, the need for alternative energy sources is real! The environmental problem threatens the future of our platen. But, I think that there is not a problem without a solution… Anyone should help for this, from whatever position one has in the society.
