Is America ready to "go green" ??? Your opinions please.? : Eco Answers

I am non stop on the
lookout for quality stuff on
Alternative Energy Sources. This morning, I
ran into a really
good article that talks over Eco Energy Sources from a different
perspective. Today’s new post is titled Is America ready to “go green” ??? Your opinions please.? .
Question by weatherization guy: Is America ready to “go green” ??? Your opinions please.?
I’ve worked in the residential energy conservation field for almost 30 years… home insulation, high efficiency furnaces, etc.
I see families who are willing to spend “some” money to save “some” energy, but not so much as to inconvenience themselves.
Now I’m hearing all kinds of blather from Obama about America going “green”, and frankly I just don’t buy it.
Americans may be ready to spend their hard earned $ $ $ on CFL light bulbs (spending dollars to save dimes), but they’re not ready to get rid of their 15-20MPG gas hog SUV’s and replace them with a 30+MPG economy car (where America could REALLY save some energy).
I see them every day on my way to work… SUV’s with only the driver, headed downtown; maybe a 2-to-1 ratio over economy cars.
Your thoughts and opinions please.
EDIT: Appreciate your thoughts… keep’em coming!

No, America isn’t ready to go green. The first sign that liberals are serious about us going green will when they start supporting nuclear power.
